First Pippa Middleton Interview

Pippa Middleton is the subject of a TV bidding war.  U.S. TV heavyweights like Oprah Winfrey, NBC and Barbara Walters are hoping to land the future queen's sister for her first full-length interview, according to The Sunday Mirror which claims that bids as high as $450,000 have already been tabled.   Sources over at Oprah Winfrey Network said that Oprah has ordered her team to "pull out all the stops" to land the exclusive.

The Duchess' sister, who manages the blog for the family's online party-planning company, has in fact signed a US$500,000 deal in 2011 to write a book about organising parties.  The publisher, Penguin, is said to be the agent for this exclusive interview.

The networks are said to offer the interview fee to charities to avoid accusations of the Middletons cashing in on their newfound fame.   However, it seems that even the big guns might have some headwind to seal the deal as Pippa has seen red about dozens of freelance paparazzi camping outside her house and sent out lawyer's letters to photographic agencies warning them that their behaviour constituted as harrassment.

Should the networks just leave her alone?  After all, she did not step into the global spotlight on her own will.  She just happened to be the Maid of Honour at the Wedding of the Century.
