Taking Care of Your Precious Designer Dress

When you buy that dress, first thing you need to know is how to take care of it! And of course you would want it to lead a long life with you in tip top condition. So, how do you keep the dress looking gorgeous for a long long time to come?
Cleaning

Designer clothing is made from the finest fabrics; which require even more care and so it is important to get it right. Most of these garments come with a tag providing information on how to wash it. The tags may provide symbols, in any case, double check the meaning of the symbols before you think about washing them if you don’t want to ruin your expensive dress. If not, go to an established dry cleaner! They are experts in handling designer clothing.

Colour Transfer

Ladies, this is one of the most overlooked problems among the other horrifying damages. Please, please construct your outfit around your other accessories, like, pairing your cream handbag with a pair dark denim jean is a big mistakes as it could potentially ruin your light coloured bag. Try to avoid contact with darks and pales, especially whilst washing.  And rains, just spells disaster for your designer items, avoid them as much as possible.

Storage

To protect your garment or accessory, place them in separate light plastic bags with the hanger on. This way it will protect your clothing from any damage or colour transfer when they are resting in your closet. If you are travelling, you would want to invest in zip up bag that is more durable, more suitable for travelling. A quick tip; if you got a crease on your garment, just hang your clothing in the bathroom when you are taking a hot shower, the creases will just fall off!
