Jessica Simpson Enjoys Celeb-Filled Baby Shower

Jessica Simpson apparently looked "very happy" as she celebrated her baby shower yesterday. The 31-year-old expectant mother gathered with friends and family at her Los Angeles home for the party organised by celebrity event planner, Mindy Weiss.

People magazine reports that Jessica wore a light blue dress to show off her growing belly and wore her hair in soft braids. "Jessica looked pretty and very happy," an eyewitness told the publication. "She's so excited to be a mom. She can't wait to meet her little girl." The Fashion Star mentor was joined by her sister Ashlee, nephew Bronx and fellow celebrity mothers Jessica Alba and Ellen Pompeo.

Us Weekly reports that the party had a pink and yellow theme, and the venue was adorned with spring tulips and tube-shaped balloons. "She received tons of gifts mostly wrapped in pink gift wrap and boxes," a source said. "There were several books, stuffed toys and clothes among other items." Meanwhile, the reality star turned business mogul narrowly escaped disaster during a walk in Venice, California on Saturday afternoon.

She was walking along on the blustery day when a palm tree branch came just inches from falling on her, X17Online reports. Fortunately she managed to get to safety with a smile on her face and enjoyed the rest of her weekend.
