Russell Brand's mother was reportedly "interested" in meeting her son's new lover after his "difficult" split from estranged wife Katy Perry. According to reports, the British comedian flew Barbara Brand over to Los Angeles for the weekend to be with him and get to know his latest girlfriend.
Although Barbara approved of Russell's relationship with estranged wife Katy Perry, she was eager to get to meet his new squeeze. "She's always the first person he calls when something happens," a source told British newspaper The Sun about Russell's relationship with his mother. "Barbara is very fond of Katy Perry but was interested in meeting the woman who is helping Russell through such a difficult time."
Russell announced his split from wife Katy at the end last year, after 14 months of marriage. He has recently been romantically linked to artist Oriela Medellin Amieiro, who he met at yoga class. Meanwhile, pop beauty Katy is rumoured to be dating male model Baptiste Giabiconi. The pair were seen leaving a Parisian Hotel at the beginning of this month, as Katy was in the French capital to celebrate the last few remaining dates of Paris Fashion Week.
The twosome were spotted looking cosy. "They were with a group of people, but they looked very much like a couple in love. He was never more than a foot away from her and they were very flirty," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
