Why and How to Clean Makeup Brush

Make up is a major part of our lives; it’s no surprise we’ve got never-ending supplies of makeup brushes scattered about our dressing table. But cleaning your makeup brushes is an often overlooked yet important step in your makeup routine. A makeup brush is a breeding ground for an army of bacteria that can easily cause breakouts and, can pose a risk of infectious agents like fungus, parasites, and viruses too. Need more any more reason? We will give you one more; regular cleaning keeps brushes soft, easy to use, and long-lasting.
Brushes used to apply concealer, eyeliner, lip colour, and cream eye shadows or blush are prone to contamination. Other breeding grounds include; sponges and eyelash curlers. Makeup tools should be washed weekly with the exception of brushes or tools that touch the eyes, those should be washed more frequently. If you suffer from an eye infection or a cold sore when using a particular product or tool, please, wash all your tools and throw away the product.

Tip #1
A quick and easy way to clean your brushes, daily or weekly; is to use a spray brush cleanser. Just spray on, rinse until the water runs clear, and air-dry.

Tip #2
Specialized liquid cleansers work too, or try a gentle baby shampoo.

Tip #3
If your makeup brushes are beyond help, invest in new ones.
