The one-month anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death was marked by an overwhelming number of supports from fans, surrounding her New Jersey grave site, Oprah Winfrey had a special 90 minute special on her new talk show.
Winfrey had the music legend’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, as well as her sister-in-law Patricia Houston and Brother Gary for an interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter. Winfrey began the show by “Since her death, those closest to Whitney have remained silent,” continuing. “Until tonight.”
The first interview was held at Patricia and Gary’s home outside of Atlanta. Patricia has been taking care of Kristina and mentioned in the interview that Kristina “is taking it one day at a time. She’ staying between homes.. I see her every single day. Trying to give her some time, she’s grieving. She lost her mother. You have to give her some time to make adjustments.”
Kristina candidly told Winfrey: “I’m doing good. I’m doing as good as I possibly can at this point. I’m trying to keep going.” “What’s getting you through it?” asked Winfrey. Kristina replied “My family,” Kristina replied. “The lord, I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to. I got you.” Kristina said. “She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me, ’Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, I’ll always need you.”Kristina said it’s her duty to continue her family business. “I have to carry on the legacy,” she said. “ We’re going to do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing.”
