Whether you take your beauty inspiration from the runway or the red carpet, there's no denying that the brown smoky eye is totally on-trend this spring. From Mila Kunis' stunning Oscars make-up to the super-chic models at Jason Wu, the muted twist on the classic smouldering look is everywhere right now.
To achieve this look, make sure you chose a taupe shadow that complements your skin tone. Both Bobbi Brown and MAC have some gorgeous richly-pigmented neutral brown palates that are the ideal partner for this sultry style. "The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending," advises celebrity make-up artist Jackie Tyson.
Here are Jackie's tips for creating the look at home.
1. Start by applying MAC Fluidline in Dipdown with a soft brush to create a solid base across the lids and under the eyes.
2. Blend it right down with a brush before applying MAC Eye Shadow in Tone and Tone in the outer corners to add drama.
3. Add some shimmer with L'Oréal Studio Secrets Eye Intensifier, which will maximise your eye colour.
4. On the lashes, apply two coats of Avon Spectralash Mascara and if you fancy adding some extra drama, pop on a pair of Eylure false lashes to complete the look.
