Tried and tested: Sassoon Intense Restore
Verdict: I spend a lot of money on hair care and know all about serums, oils and masks. My hair is long, highlighted and wavy and therefore very dry, which means it needs all the help it can get. I have tried most hair products for dry hair, at least that's how it feels.

I've tested Intense Restore, both as a conditioner and mask, and it works well as both. I started using it as a mask and already after the first wash my hair was shinier. After using it for three weeks my hair was softer and easier to comb through and style. Then I started using it as conditioner and not only is my hair shinier and healthier, my waves hold together better and looks naturally stylish now.

Tried and tested: Lancôme Rénérgie Yeux Multiple Lift
Verdict: This eye cream/under eye concealer is supposed to make the sensitive skin around the eyes firmer and be a highlighter for the darker under-eye area. Unfortunately it doesn't work that well as either. The eye cream is very rich and isn't really absorbed by my 38-year-old skin. Instead, I look greasy around the eyes most of the day. The bags under my eyes got worse. As a highlighter, the make-up was hard to get even on skin, the product sort of crumbled.
The only positive is that the cute packaging made my female co-workers go 'oooh' and 'aaah'. Until they saw the poor result.

Tried and tested: Estée Lauder Daywear Plus Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Crème
Verdict: I love a good bargain and have a lot of really good budget-friendly products in my make-up bag. However, as with food, sometimes you know why you choose more expensive products.
I am 25 years old and have a combination skin. The cream is absorbed quickly and is perfect under make-up. My face feels rehydrated all day long, however not shiny, not even in the afternoon. If I have to find a flaw, that would be the jar. Digging into the product with my fingers leaves the cream full of bacteria, which is very unhygienic. Also the glass in the jar ought to be darker to protect the photosensitive antioxidants. But apart from that, I am happy with this product. As a little goes a long way I feel the price is fine, too.
