Movie stars may be blessed at birth with gorgeous hair and good looks, but when it comes to building bodies that will make a lasting impression and setting the benchmark on how our bodies should look like. They have to put in the hard work -- just like the rest of us. Here we showcase the top 6 on screen physiques that were truly unforgettable.1) Jessica Alba in "Into the Blue"
YouTube search "Jessica Alba Into the Blue," however, and you'll see what's possibly the best display of beachwear. In the movie's U.S. trailer, the film's distribution company, Sony Pictures, actually had to digitally retouch Alba's swimwear to make it less revealing. It was that hot!
2) Hugh Jackman in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"
There are a lot of people talking about how Jacked Hugh Jackman looks in Wolverine. According to Mike Ryan, Jackman's trainer, the actor used a combination of compound lifts (squats, deadlifts and presses) and cardio to help the actor pack on lean, ripped muscle. "He didn't put on a lot of mass for the role, but the size he added was pure quality,"
3) Jennifer Garner in "Elektra"
Garner already had a fighter's look from her role as a secret agent on TV series "Alias," but she hit the gym really hard to play lethal ninja-ette Elektra Natchios. She worked with celebrity trainer Valerie Waters, together they trained six days a week, performing a mix of strength circuits and running intervals. "I consider Jen's lean, limber look in this movie my finest work," Waters said. "She was also doing martial arts and stunt training, so we couldn't go too heavy on the weights. We did a lot of mixed circuits with bodyweight exercises, free weights, and core work.
4) Gerard Butler in "300"
The movie 300 was released back in 2007 and yet there is still a lot of interest in who actually trained Gerard Butler and his co-stars, and how did they do it? "300" wasn't a movie. It was a 117-minute highlight reel for Gerard Butler's abs.
5) Halle Berry in "Die Another Day"
Who will ever forget the first time they saw Halle Berry walking out of the water in that orange bikini? The entrance may have been inspired by Ursula Andress (the first Bond Girl), but Berry's beachfront saunter created a legend of its own. "Halle's sexiness lies in the balance of her frame," said celebrity trainer Ashley Borden. "Her shoulder width is perfectly proportioned to the sweep of her quadriceps, emphasizing her muscular legs and small waist." Die Another Day received mixed reviews and marked Pierce Brosnan's last movie as James Bond, but Berry definitely made Jinx Johnson the most memorable Bond girl of her generation.
6) Ryan Reynolds in "Green Lantern"
Now, you might have noticed that comic book heroes are more buff than the average bear; however, typically, the actors that portray them are not. At least not when they win the role. To get them credible, they must become buff. To get buff, they must build muscle and lose fat.
To paraphrase Arnold Schwarzenegger: "I'm the sculptor of my body. I see that it needs something more here or there, and I go to the gym and work that body part, and I mold it as I want it." Ryan did just that. Together with his trainer, he used old-fashioned but tried and true methods of muscle building—diet and exercise—proving yet again that what works never goes out of style.
