Justin Bieber's concert in Oslo almost became a disaster and 49 fans were injured after the fans went hysterical over the 18-year-old heart throb during the Norwegian show.
The situation yesterday was so chaotic that the mayor had to seek refuge behind a tree "to avoid being trampled".
According to TMZ, about 14 teenage females were taken away for "emergency care" after the 'catastrophe' broke out as fans went hysterical at Justin's concert.
It is understood that a total of 49 fans were injured in a way or another, though nobody was seriously hurt.
Meanwhile, Mayor Fabian Stang has launched an investigation "to find out what went wrong and why it happened".
Local police were trying to maintain order and almost declare a state of emergency when hundreds of fans mobbed the town, screaming for their idol's appearance.
Video footage of the scene shows hordes of teenagers dashing across roads and avoiding cars to chase after a vehicle which they believed Justin Bieber was in.
"Mayor Stang said it got so bad... he had to hide behind a tree at one point to avoid getting trampled," TMZ writes.
Justin was in Norway to perform four of his latest hits outside Oslo's famed opera house as part of a TV special, attracting fans from all over Europe.
Some crazy fans apparently tried to get even closer by paddling on inflatable rafts across the harbor.
"Norway - please listen to the police. I dont want anyone getting hurt. I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first...for the show to happen u must all listen to the police," he wrote. "We are all concerned for your safety and i want what is best for u. please listen and tonight we will have some fun. love you and im excited to see you all (sic)."
